In the 3 years we were there though, the only time I was ever served that ever-so-appealing dish is when big important folks were in town. Quite the honor. And once, I think I even tried it - very small bite.ShamrockJewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398034033127494351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4131733159327187491.post-78572883350325049392009-04-03T01:04:00.000-04:002009-04-03T01:04:00.000-04:00What a delightful post! But in each case they tasted like something I was familiar with so it wasn't bad. A chinese friend once cooked me a special fish soup at her home and floating in it were several fish eyeballs. I took every opportunity when she was not looking to dive my spoon in and get them out.I think I would have physically gagged if I had tried to swallow them!Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07493703623233516037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4131733159327187491.post-30549434955489039842009-04-01T15:20:00.000-04:002009-04-01T15:20:00.000-04:00We'll be ready to hit Red Robin for a real America...We'll be ready to hit Red Robin for a real American burger when you get home!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16881121619059472292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4131733159327187491.post-80974553882840578922009-04-01T08:43:00.000-04:002009-04-01T08:43:00.000-04:00What an awkward situation. What they need is a good serving of black-eyed peas and hog jowls on New Year's Day! Thanks for the lesson in culture shock. Love, Aunt Joanne.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
