Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires...courage.

Just checking in...

I don't have much to post about today. Our days have been pretty mundane lately. We stay home mostly, except for the grocery store or the library, and church on the weekend. I really need to investigate some classes for the kids, to see what's available for them. I just don't feel much like carting them back and forth right now, plus we go on vacation in about 2 weeks, so I don't want to start anything new at the moment. I'm hoping when we get back my nausea and insane 'tired-ness' will be almost gone away...then we can start doing some fun 'stuff'. There are bowling and roller skating every month, park play dates, and of course sports activities. I'd like to get Corbin into soccer. Logan expressed an interest in golf, but the available class is at 9 a.m. on Saturdays....not sure Karl or myself can get up and out of here in time. Also not sure Logan would want to do it bad enough to miss Waffle Day....need to check with him I guess. One easy one is swim lessons....they all like to swim, it's good exercise, and hopefully I can find classes that coincide or are at least back to back...something to look into toward the end of April. I read about a swim team north of us but I'm not sure any of them really want to compete...maybe they would. I really need to communicate with my kids, I guess! ;)

Emma is still not walking...but she is starting to do a few more things. She loves music and will wobble around to the beat any time it's playing. She also likes to play peek-a-boo with anyone willing to engage her. Her grin is the biggest and cutest, and she has a special way of saying "DAAAA!" anytime Karl comes within her sight, she hears his voice, or even hears us say anything about Daddy. She loves her Daddy, and I believe the feeling is mutual.

Well that's it...no more info. to share. I know, I haven't done a great job lately about writing here. I'll try to do better. Thanks for faithfully reading anyway.

First visit to the OB

I had my first appointment with my OB today and I really like her. She was extremely nice and took a lot of time to talk with me about all of my pregnancies, any complications, and concerns we needed to address for this pregnancy. I feel really good about choosing her for my doctor and I think it will be a great few months working with her. She did an ultrasound so I did get to see the baby and his/her little heartbeat. No matter how many times I've seen it, I'm still amazed.....it's a tiny little life!

I have another visit on April 19 and will also take an early glucose test then....to check my blood sugar levels. Since I had gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy I am more likely to develop it this time, so they're going to check me earlier as well as doing the one they normally do at about 28 weeks. I'm going to be following my 'diet' from before from now on (actually, I've been trying to stick to that already) which will help keep by blood sugars level and hopefully control the size of the baby....it worked with Emma so it should do the trick this time too.

Right now my biggest issues are nausea and fatigue....and the nausea isn't that bad. Things could be much worse....I've been very blessed that I don't get sick (so far!) during my pregnancies, just nauseous for a few weeks. I can handle that, and it should be over in a few more weeks anyway. As for the fatigue....I get so tired. I am taking my prenatal vitamin and I'm trying to eat healthfully, so I believe it's just another of those adjustment things that will improve in a few weeks. I am going to try to start having some rest times in our day though....just need to figure out how to get in the rest, the homeschooling, and all the chores! ;)

That's it for now. I'll be back with more news sometime soon.

Memories in picture...2008

Splash Lagoon in Erie, PA for Logan's and Hailey's birthdays.

My Daddy shoveling snow.
I LOVED that my kids were out playing instead of having to ride a bus home...I always hated the long bus ride home.
Saw this sign when we visited FL this year....spoke to me b/c the beach was one of the things I missed the most.
LOVE this hair!!
Hailey in her ice skating class.
In the Village of Pittsford.
Just hanging in that tree again.
She finally learned to ride her bike.
Flying kites at the elementary school down the street.

A few more photos to enjoy. We don't have as many because this is the year Karl lived in Maryland for 6 months....he's our resident photographer. So January through May of this year is scarce, and November and December of 2006 as well. On a rare date with Daddy...we still have this bowl she painted.
Waiting for Logan to finish wrestling class with Coach Todd.
With his nephew Charlie.
Her first dance recital...turns out to be the only one, so far.
Playing in the Toccoa River at the cabin.
Just got off the tubes...
At Lambert's with their cousins.
